Consequently, I was determined to start over, to prevail over lifes challenges and to triumph. But often I was overwhelmed by memories of my past. I realized that my secret kept me hostage, and the only way out was to confront the matter head on.Writing and rewriting the book was my way of coming to emotional completion. In the process of my healing, I learned that my story is not a rare one.The number of suicides in the USA is higher then the number of homicides.Every day in America alone, 80 people kill themselves and 1500 attempt to do so. It is a silent epidemic. No one wants talk about it. (In the past, I sometimes lied when I was asked how did my husband died.) I kept silent for 35 years. There are millions of people like me. They dont talk; they live in a world of guilt and shame.Suicide is a dreadful word. Those who think about it and wish to stop the pain, rather die than seek help. Those who left behind, rather lie than share their stories. Sara Shais journey to prevail over life challenges will touch and inspire the uncharted realms of your heart.
